Official FormD T1 Specifications | The Original V2.5 SFF Case

Welcome to the original and official home of the FormD T1 project. FormD and the T1 originated as an R&D venture utilizing NCASE resources and manufacturing expertise. Today, the T1 enclosure is proudly integrated into the NCASE portfolio.

As the original creators, this website serves as the official source for the most updated and refined version of the chassis: the FormD T1 V2.5. Review the specifications below to compare our streamlined Reference Kit with the highly compatible Sandwich Kit.

Specification Comparison

Model Name T1 Reference Kit T1 Sandwich Kit
Model Code T1-REF-SDK T1-SW-SDK
Overview Compared to the Sandwich Kit, this configuration is a better choice for people using a workstation, reference, or similar-sized Founders Edition GPU. It is easy to install and more reliable because this kit doesn’t require a PCIe Riser.

The air-cooling advantage combined with a "PCIe Riser-Less" layout makes this kit ideal for those who value reliability and travel needs.
Led by NCASE, the T1 Sandwich Kit carries forward the original FormD design philosophy into its next evolution. This updated configuration focuses on expanding graphics card compatibility while making the chassis significantly easy to install.

Unlocking the full potential of this sandwich layout makes it ideal for power users interested in pushing hardware limits without compromising on a compact enclosure volume.

Graphics Card Support

GPUs no more than 112x325mm, 2-Slot thick

Note:
1. If power supply cables add to GPU height, it may create fitment issues.
2. Founders Edition 3080 and 3080TI FE will fit using the default 12P to dual 8P extension cable.
3. Workstation GPUs where power cables do not add to GPU height will fit.

GPUs no more than 140 x 325mm, 3.25-Slot thick

Note: Graphics Card depends on CPU Cooler height. See CPU Cooler Support section for more information.

Revisions

V2.5 - Current Official Release

V2.1 Updates:

  • Not applicable to Reference Kit.

V2.0 - The first public release.

V1.0 - Not applicable. Reference V1.0 was never released to the public.

V2.5 - Current Official Release (Refined by NCASE)

  • Internal Structure & Riser Update: The old T1 V2.1 layout—which used a 180° PCIe 4.0 riser cable—has been completely phased out. V2.5 introduces a newly optimized internal structure paired with an upgraded PCIe 5.0 riser cable featuring a 90° socket. This updated 5.0 cable offers significantly improved stability and drastically reduces crush-down issues after installation. Additionally, the redesigned mounting bracket makes the riser easy to install and improves flexibility, allowing native fitment with a wider selection of third-party risers.

V2.1 Updates:

  • Front Panel: Two extra screw holes are added for Side Fan + Radiator Bracket Brace (dual rad setups).
  • Front Panel Screw Bar SW: Power Supply Bracket mounting holes are now threaded for secure SFX installation.
  • Rear Panel SW: M19 holes are now through-holes (unthreaded).
  • GPU Lock Brackets: Replaced older bars for better DP/HDMI cable clearance.

V2.0 - Public release.

V1.0 - Initial release.
